THE DIRT: ALL ABOUT JOHNNY
Johnny Gunn was born Cameron Kelsey Purvis on March 4th, 1975 in the small town of Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada. Cranbrook, a city of 22,000 people is located in the Rocky Mountain Trench between Kelowna and Calgary, Alberta. Gunn grew up in Cranbrook and Dawson Creek (in the Peace River Area of Northern B.C.). He has lived in many other places including New Westminster, Fort Nelson, Oliver, Mill Bay, Victoria, Duncan, Ahousaht and Vancouver, B.C. as well as Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Antigua, Guatemala and Guatemala City. Johnny's family background is of Irish, French, Spanish and Cherokee ethnicity. Both of his parents are teachers. Jeanne, his mother, teaches at a community college in B.C. while his father, Cam W.teaches English in Taiwan. Johnny Gunn is the middle child of three. His older sister Katherine lives in Calgary as well as his younger brother, Murray. Johnny Gunn graduated from South Peace Senior Secondary in June, 1993 and has since attended Northern Lights College and Capilano College in North Vancouver. He was married to Ana Salome Salazar of the Ballet Nacional de Guatemala in September, 1997 and was divorced 2 years later. On August 22, 2000 his first child was born. Nicolas Cameron Catton-Purvis' mother is Rebecca Catton of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Gunn is now 25 years old and lives in Calgary, Alta.
